  Last Friday we had a Sr. Missionary conference, which was held in the Area Office conference room. There were about 20 couples present. 4 of them performed a musical number. It was very well done. Pres. Duncan spoke on the pre conference meetings they had attended. He indicated that he had written 27 pages of notes. The First Presidency, the 12 Apostles and some auxiliary leaders spoke to them. It was a special treat for us to be there. Elder Pitcher was asked at the last minute  to have a short video clip ready to show on the big screen and with the overhead projector. All things hardly ever go as planned. This was no exception. As soon as the cord was attached to the laptop, the system turns on, meaning the projector turns on, the lights go off and the big screen drops down. Sister Pitcher was warned to watch the screen descend because the piano had been moved over so that it was under the drop zone. She did great in gently pulling the screen bottom away from the wall so as to drop in front of the piano. However, to the side of the piano was a table with refreshments all layed out fancy. Well the screen cleared the piano perfectly but not the table. So a little squishy  action on the treats did not make any difference on how they tasted. Oh yes, the video did not play as planned, so a few moments of panic set in until it was re- booted. The saying about oil and water  not mixing applies to Elder Pitcher and technology.
  A few weeks ago in a family home evening, one couple told something very amusing. Seems they love REESES PIECES. They had a stash of their favorite treats and had devised a plan where by they could make them last until the end of their mission. After an accounting of exactly how many they had, they determined how many pieces they could eat each day. Their solution to making sure that they did not exceed their quota, they placed their treasured REESES PIECES in their pill minder! For those of you who are too young to appreciate what that is, ask an old person to explain.

  We picked up the Barlow's today after church and brought them to our new apartment for dinner and a tour. We also wanted to take them on a walk in the beautiful area we have found. Besides being a very upscale neighborhood, there is a lovely wooded area. That is where this picture is taken.
   We will have a short week coming up. The area office will be closed part of the week because of Semana Santa (Holy Week.) We will be taking a little trip on Friday to see some of the celebrations. We are looking forward to that.
   We are still continuing to get items for our new apartment. We have now furnished three apartments during our mission. We think we should about have all we need for the rest of our time here.
