This past weekend we had a special Temple training meeting which was held in the Temple Sunday afternoon. There are a number of non fluent Spanish speaking missionaries which would have been excluded from the instructions if it were not for the translation department. That means that Elder Pitcher was invited to do the translating for the group. It had been a long time since he had done anything like that, 46 years to be exact.
We have had a power problem this past week. So, we were unable to use the Dryer or Oven. Just a minor inconvenience really. They are going to do the repairs today we hope.
We have been able to meet 2 new missionaries from home that arrived last week. One from Pleasant View and the other from North Ogden. They were excited to see us and make a connection. We took their pictures and sent them to their parents. You can imagine how their families feel getting a look at the sons the same day they arrive here in Guatemala.
Last Thursday we had heard there would be a singing group from Utah visiting at the Temple and the MTC. They did a session at the Temple. Elder Pitcher ran into Mike Wimmer who is formally from Pleasant View and sings with the group. We hurried over to the MTC after our shift at the Temple to hear the group sing. They were wonderful. It's funny how often we run into people we know from home or people who have a connection with someone we know.
