This past week Elder Pitcher has been happily taking pictures of lots of flowers. This is just one of many. While we were in front of a house taking this second picture, the gardener came out and began talking to us. The house is actually for sale, but he stays there most of the time and keeps the yard up. He showed us how he was planting tiny new plants. He was very proud of the yard, which he should be. This third photo is of the back of the house. The gardener invited us inside to take a tour. It was really quite a large home and well kept. We have a plan now to introduce this man to the gardener at the Temple.
Around here most of the homes have high fences so that you can't see into the yards. This home is visible through a wrought-iron fence, which is unusual, as most fences are concrete. We were so excited to be able to see the yard and even the inside of this home. We're pretty sure there are many beautiful homes that we walk by each day, we just can't see them for the fences.
On another outing, we ran into this man with the brooms. (Picture 4) We call him the Guatemalan version of the Fuller Brush Man. He was so cute about having his picture taken.
A new Temple missionary couple arrived this week. They are from Idaho Falls. We are now officially not the newest Temple missionary couple. However, they both speak Spanish and have been ordinance workers before, so they are off and running in the Temple.
We had them and another couple over for dinner on Saturday night so we could get to know them. They are very happy to be here and would be best described as solid saints in the gospel.
The weeks seem to roll by fairly quickly, especially when we have the early morning shift every other Saturday.
